Happy New Year!
We have started the year with big goals, lots of seeds to plant, and a bunch of monarch caterpillars!
We are excited to enter into 2018 and for all of the potential it holds!
2017 was a great year for Mustard Seed- we became an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit, successfully held our first fundraiser, recieved a beautiful greenhouse, had great success in our trial garden with potential future crops, and made some wonderful new friends and supporters. We are beyond grateful and blessed!
2018 is the year of our capital campaign. We are calling it the 'Help Us Grow' campaign. While we will continue to grow milkweed plants, meet with the families of the people we hope to serve, and work in the trial garden, our primary focus will be raising the money it will take to begin construction and get Mustard Seed open! During this time we will be:
Working on Mustard Seed's infrastructure – we will be meeting with board members, fine-tuning our business plan, and meeting with leaders from other similar nonprofits to gain valuable insight from their start-up and operational experiences.
Applying for grants to help cover start-up expenses.
Seeking volunteer involvement — if you would like to get involved, please let us know!
Increasing public awareness — we will be attending seminars and farmers markets, and will be working on our online presence via Facebook and Instagram to help spread the word about Mustard Seed.
